Susan G. Komen of Montana is holding its second annual Breast Cancer Survivor Conference on Saturday in Missoula.
The conference is free to all breast cancer survivors, their families, and supporters.
The keynote speaker is Lillie Shockney, who will share insights from her book, "Stealing Second Base."
A two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Shockney is the author of 13 books and more than 200 articles on the subject.
The book takes a somewhat humorous but empowering approach to coping with the disease and treatment.
Shockney will be in Helena on Friday holding workshops for nurses and doctors at St. Peter's Hospital
The conference in Missoula will address breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and pre- and post-surgery quality of life.
The Montana Komen Foundation receives and distributes grants for breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs.
