Andrew Scott Denning of Billings has been booked in the Yellowstone County Detention Center on two counts of deliberate homicide.

Denning, 20, was arrested early Monday morning after two women were found dead in an apartment complex on Sunday.

The victims are sisters, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman; their names have not yet been released.

Autopsies are planned for Monday afternoon to determine the cause and manner of death.

Billings police originally stopped by the apartment for a welfare check, after a concerned co-worker called police after one of the women didn't show up for work or answer phone calls.

Billings Police Chief Rich St. John described it as a "very, very heinous crime scene...a very tragic event."

Authorities do not yet know the possible motive.

We will update you as we learn more.
