The MSU/Lewis & Clark County Extension Office is hosting the second annual spring beekeeping workshop on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Entry Hall at the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds.
The cost for the workshop is $20 for adults and $10 for youth 18 years or younger.
This year's presenters include: Ruth O'Neill from Montana State University, who will be discussing diseases and arthropod pests of honey bees; Cam Lay from Montana Department of Agriculture who will present on the industry outlook; and David Baumbauer from Montana State University who will give a wax candle making demonstration.
The day will conclude with a question and answer session with the industry experts and a honey taste testing. If you have honey that you would like to share with the participants, bring it along. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.
