Bean Fire burns 400+ acres near Toston

Another wildfire has broken out, this time on the northwest edge of Gallatain County.

County fire units from Central Valley, Fort Ellis, and Manhattan were called to the Bean Canyon Fire just after 1:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

The fire has burned an estimated 400 to 500 acres and is is burning on private ground south and east of Toston, in grass and mixed fuels.

No structures are threatened at this time.

More than two dozen personnel are fighting the fire.

We will update you as we learn more.

(UPDATE: the fire was originally reported as the Dean Fire; we have since learned that it is the Bean Canyon Fire)
