The Calgary Sun is reporting on its website that Alberta police have received tips that Arizona fugitive John McCluskey and his alleged accomplice Casslyn Welch may have been spotted in that area.

The search for McCluskey, 45, and Welch, 43, has been focused on Tuesday in the eastern area of Glacier National Park.

"RCMP Sgt. Patrick Webb said there were calls from residents in the southern portion of the province that they had spotted the pair, but nothing is confirmable," according to the Calgary Sun's website.

Mounties have been working closely with U.S. authorities in the manhunt because the armed and extremely dangerous fugitives could possibly cross the border.

UPDATE, 11:15 am: The person who called authorities to report that she saw Casslyn Welch in St. Mary spoke with The News Station's Kay Rossi on Tuesday morning.

Lindsey Davidson, who works at Johnson's Cafe in the small community, told us that she was eating tacos with a friend at the Bad Frog Mexican Cantina at about 4 o'clock on Sunday when a woman came in and sat down next to her.

Davidson said that the woman "looked kind of crazy" and was wearing "layers" of clothing. Davidson said the woman looked "like a meth addict" and talked to the waitress about meeting a man in nearby Glacier National Park.

At the time, Davidson wasn't aware of the multi-state manhunt underway for Welch and escaped Arizona fugitive John McCluskey.

On Monday morning, Davidson glanced at a local paper and saw a picture of Welch and said that she "immediately" knew that it was the same woman she had encountered in the cantina on Sunday, telling KRTV that there was "no doubt" in her mind that the woman she had seen was Welch.

The cook at the cantina told KRTV that the woman, who was wearing a straw hat, ordered a bean and cheese burrito and spent about an hour in the eatery, and said that the woman mentioned that she had a cabin near Duck Lake.

A man who performs karaoke at the cantina also saw the woman on Sunday. Both the cook and the karaoke man agree that the woman they saw on Sunday matches the picture of Welch.

Davidson and the cook noted, however, that the woman they saw on Sunday had lighter hair, speculating that if it is Welch, she may have dyed her hair or is wearing a wig.

(Monday morning) Law enforcement officials on Tuesday continued the search in and around Glacier National Park for escaped Arizona fugitive John McCluskey and the woman who allegedly helped him escape, Casslyn Welch.

The News Station's Kay Rossi is on the scene and spoke with Glacier County Undersheriff Jeff Fauque on Monday night; Fauque said that authorities received a tip from a person who claimed to have spotted the fugitives at a restaurant in St. Mary's on Monday.

In addition to Glacier County authorities, officials from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Customs & Border Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security are searching the area, and a CBP helicopter may be utilized as the search continues.

Following Monday's arrest of fellow Arizona escapee Tracy Province in Wyoming, U.S. Marshal David Gonzalez said of McCluskey and Welch, "They consider themselves as Bonnie and Clyde. This is very, very serious business." He added, "Rest assured, we are going to be on McCluskey like a cheap suit."

McCluskey, Province, and Daniel Renwick escaped from an Arizona State Prison on July 30 after authorities say Welch threw wire cutters over the perimeter fence. Welch is McCluskey's fiancee and cousin. Renwick was captured in Colorado days later.

A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of McCluskey. McCluskey was serving 15 years for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and discharge of a firearm.

McCluskey and Welch are considered armed and extremely dangerous. If you have any information about their location or activities, you are urged to immediately dial 911 or call your local law enforcement agency.
