Fifty homes have been evacuated and 100 more are on pre-evacuation orders due to the new Wilson Fire, which is burning southeast of Roundup along Johnny's Coal Road off of Highway 87.

"Every department in the county is committed," said Jeff Gates, Musselshell County Disaster & Emergency Services coordinator.

Those resources, which include mutual aid from other counties and the Montana Department of Natural Resources, are comprised of 25 fire engines, two helicopters, and four dozers.

Gates said the fire is moving west and that ‘bad, erratic winds' are currently a concern.

Gates also confirmed that crews do not have a current size estimate on the fire.

An emergency shelter has been set up at the Red Cross for victims at St. Benedicts Church in Roundup.
